My name is Russ, and I am a Portland Oregon based photographer. I started mainly shooting landscape photos and some astrophotography and I did that for several years. I had attempted portrait photography, but I had royally screwed up and had tossed it aside. A couple years went by, and a chance post about a meeting for photographers of all levels was announced in the area.
Everything Changed
My first time with other photographers and models that knew what they were doing was like opening a door in my mind I didn’t know I had. I’ve thrown myself into learning and growing and just getting out there!
Workshops
I attended workshops. I attended group shoots. I just kept going out and shooting. Any chance I got, I was out there learning.
On My Own
Then I started doing my own shoots. Planning them out, working with models and people to come up with ideas for a shared vision of the shoot and what we want to make.
